Frequently asked questions

Is a high points score enough?+

A high points score does not guarantee an invitation. Your occupation, the invitation process and any state or territory criteria also matter. We can assess your profile and identify suitable options.

Home Affairs: SkillSelect ↗
Can I explore more than one pathway?+

Yes, we can help you compare suitable options before deciding on a strategy. We will consider your circumstances, timing and the requirements for each pathway with you.

Home Affairs: SkillSelect ↗
How do the 189, 190 and 491 visas differ?+

The 189 is an independent skilled pathway, the 190 involves state or territory nomination, and the 491 is provisional and regional, with nomination or eligible-family sponsorship routes. We can explain the differences and assess which options may suit your circumstances.

Home Affairs: SkillSelect ↗
Do I need a skills assessment?+

A suitable skills assessment is generally part of points-tested skilled migration. We can help identify the relevant assessing authority and evidence for your occupation, so you understand what is needed before applying.

Home Affairs: SkillSelect ↗
Is an expression of interest a visa application?+

No. An expression of interest records your interest in relevant skilled visas; it is not a visa application and does not grant permission to stay in Australia. We can help you prepare an accurate EOI and plan for the next stages.
